A Personal Letter

The book of Philemon is one of the smallest in the Bible yet it gives us some of the most powerful insights into how the gospel reshapes how we live in this world. Philemon was a wealthy slave owner, and church leader in the first century whose slave ran away and encounters the Apostle Paul. The book is a personal letter to Philemon advocating on behalf of this runaway slave. It poses some complicated questions about slavery, the Image of God, and how we treat fellow believers from different backgrounds.
